Executive Team
The Executive Team is comprised of Rob Aldis, Managing Director, Peter Byford, Director Operations, Sydney, Melbourne and Asia, Peter Wood Director Operations, Brisbane and Perth, David Clark, Director Major Projects, Wayne Evans, Chief Financial Officer and Allan Robertson, General Manager Strategy and Human Resources.

Managing Director
Rob Aldis, Managing Director of Evans & Peck, has almost 40 years of experience in the procurement and delivery of major infrastructure. Rob worked with the Leighton Group of Companies for 24 years where he was involved in delivering a broad range of major infrastructure projects in Australia and Asia before moving into general management positions, running businesses on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.
Joining Evans & Peck in 1994, Rob since gained considerable experience in advising clients on the procurement and delivery of their major infrastructure projects. Typical examples are the major motorways in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, as well as the roll out of the Cable TV network across Australia. Rob’s background and experience give him a detailed understanding of the very broad range of procurement strategies available to clients.

Director Operations - Sydney, Melbourne and Asia
Peter has been a Principal of Evans & Peck since 1996 and was appointed a Director in 2001. Peter has been managing Evans & Peck’s Sydney office since 2000 and has overall management responsibility for Evans & Peck in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East.
Peter has over 39 years experience in the construction industry both in Australia and internationally. Combined with his experience at Evans & Peck, Peter has developed considerable skills and expertise including business analysis, project planning, commercial and contractual advice as well as the provision of expert evidence. Peter has a particular interest in risk management that complements his broad range of project delivery skills. Since joining Evans & Peck in 1995, Peter has been involved in a variety of consultancy projects including major building and infrastructure projects as well as multi-billion dollar defence projects.

Director Operations - Brisbane and Perth
Prior to joining Evans & Peck, Peter held General Manager and Senior Executive roles for national and international contractors. Peter has worked on literally hundreds of mining, engineering and building projects over some 30 years. He has a particular interest and expertise in project governance and the establishment of clear differentiable project objectives. He is also Evans & Peck’s Group Practice Manager for Alliances and has been either the lead facilitator or strategic advisor on some 30 major alliances from Abu Dhabi, India, Australia and New Zealand

Director (Major Projects)
David Clark is Principal, Director of Major Projects and a member of the Evans & Peck
Executive Lead Team, following six years as the managing Principal in Victoria. He has
35 years experience in the engineering and construction industry working for major
government and contracting organisations in Hong Kong and Australia, which included
ten years as a regional general manager for Thiess VIC/SA/TAS/NZ. He has extensive
experience in major projects from conception, business case development and procurement through to tendering, implementation and cost/time control. He has also been responsible for some of the major innovation in the construction and mining industry through a range of project delivery methods and has successfully implemented major government outsourcing programs in the rail, water and power industries. He is also a regular Gateway Reviewer for Victoria’s Department of Treasury and Finance.
David has had direct involvement in both formulating and delivering many forms of infrastructure under various delivery models which include BOOT and PPP projects, managing contractor, alliances, early contractor involvement through to design and construction. His direct experience in delivery of major infrastructure includes tunnels, roads, bridges, dams, water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, railway, prisons, hospitals, schools, sporting arena, mining infrastructure and process facilities.

Chief Financial Officer
Commencing with Evans & Peck in 2008, Wayne has held a variety of senior Finance roles, since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1985, whilst employed by Deloitte. Prior to joining Evans & Peck, Wayne was CFO for Marsh Inc (Asia Pacific) and Worley Limited with both roles providing considerable exposure to the treasury, financial, tax and company secretarial requirements of professional services firms. During his time with Marsh, he also managed several successful acquisitions. Other former employers include, Bankers Trust Australia and Spicer & Oppenheim (UK).

General Manager Strategy & Human Resources
After graduating with a Bachelor of Building from the University of New South Wales,
Allan spent four years working in site and office management roles in the design and
construction of shopping centres, factories and home units. This was followed by three
years working in film and video, producing television commercials and documentaries
for television. Following the completion of a Masters of Business Administration at the
Australian Graduate School of Management Allan worked in business planning, marketing and project development in a range of industries from tourism to marine industries to industrial development. This period was followed by 16 years working in Business Planning, Business Development and tender management for major construction companies in the fields of building, civil engineering, rail, marine, water and wastewater and industrial.
Since joining Evans & Peck, Allan has managed the business planning and strategy development of the company, managed the development of its IT system (until June 2008) in addition to marketing, quality assurance and human resources.
The Management Team
Evans & Peck is known for its ability to add value to projects by integrating a ‘hands on’
approach with highly skilled commercial, technical, and managerial peer review. The same principles are applied in managing Evans & Peck‘s daily operations.
The Management Team is responsible for managing daily operations. It meets frequently to ensure successful outcomes in the areas of business development, financial performance, safety, quality, human resources, and Information Technology.
Sydney

Sydney Branch Manager
Principal
Steve has 19 years experience as a project manager with a proven track record in the
construction and operation of infrastructure projects. He has worked in a broad range
of fields including facilities and operations management, systems integration and construction. Over recent years, Steve has focused on the operational aspects of major projects and has developed specialist skills in operational readiness and operational management. His industry experience includes infrastructure, defence, road, rail, oil and gas, process, nuclear, and technology. Related expertise also includes procurement, risk management, contract administration, scheduling/planning and commercial negotiation.
Steve is a Principal in the Sydney branch and his current role is as one of two Operations Managers responsible for the operation of 50 per cent of the Sydney business.

Sydney Operations Manager
Principal
Peter is a Principal with Evans & Peck, the NSW Operations Manager for Project Delivery and Cost Engineering and a Director of the Alliancing Association of Australasia. He has a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering and a Computer Science degree. Peter is a qualified Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Chartered Engineer and an Alumnus of Australian Graduate School of Management. He has held Project Director, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Design Manager and numerous consulting roles on the delivery of major projects in Australia, U.K., Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. He has advised extensively on the improvement of business performance in the engineering, utilities and construction industries. Peter has led, facilitated, or participated in the development of the delivery strategy for and/or delivered well over $20 billion of capital works in water, rail, road, resources, building and land development projects over his career. Peter is a very active participant in the Project Alliancing sector. He has facilitated 10 or more Alliances in the last four years, participated in Alliance Leadership Teams, been the Independent Cost Expert and assisted in cost negotiation, risk management, value management, organisational support and general advice on many more. Peter lectured for 6 years at the University of New South Wales in the Master of Construction Management course and has regularly contributed to industry conferences on project improvement topics such as stakeholder management, risk management and analysis and Alliancing. Setting up infrastructure projects and businesses for success is Peter’s professional passion. Peter is looking forward to making a significant contribution to entrenching effective collaboration into infrastructure delivery practices and to unlocking and delivering the next generation of infrastructure assets – intelligent transport, sustainable water delivery and sustainable energy.

Queensland Branch Manager
Principal
With 25 years industry experience, Jason’s strengths lie in the areas of business growth
and profitability, relationship contracting, performance management and strategic development. Throughout his career, he has held senior management positions with leading international construction companies and has been responsible for key achievements including building a highly profitable business from a zero base to more than $100M per annum in four years, national responsibility for market entry into alliance contracting (resulting in the award of projects worth more than $300M in three years), securing Queensland’s first fully approved PPP for the provision of transport infrastructure, achieving business diversification into the water and wastewater sector (resulting in more than $250M in work in a 3 year period), achieving preferential status and negotiating repeat business with key clients worth $250M over 5 years, and introducing the concept of High Performance Team Development and Breakthrough Thinking Processes, resulting in doubling industry benchmark performance and driving extraordinary profitability.
Brisbane Operations Manager
Principal
Adam Aspinall has over 28 years experience in the electricity industry in both the generation and wholesale market sectors. With Evans & Peck, Adam has carried out assignments associated with the development and project management of a number of new power station projects in Queensland and New South Wales, as well as having reviewed generation technologies and costs for potential new entrant players. Some of his recent experiences include the development of major infrastructure projects incorporating feasibility analysis and negotiation of major procurement contracts (EPC, Fuel Supply, Electricity Sales, Water Sales etc). Prior to joining Evans & Peck Adam worked 8 years with CS Energy as GM Production and GM Business Development. Adam has worked overseas in UK with the Interconnections Division of the National Grid Company and has significant power station O&M experience.
Melbourne

Melbourne Branch Manager
Principal
Michael is a Principal and the Melbourne Branch Manager. He has over 30 years diverse experience in civil engineering and project management in the public and private sectors. This experience covers project development, delivery, contract documentation, claims management, dispute resolution and negotiation of commercial settlements. Michael has broad generalist engineering experience encompassing the design and construction of civil, structural and mechanical works, and extensive specialist experience in infrastructure project feasibility, planning procurement and delivery.
Other areas of experience are in extensive high volume staff and contractor management including hands on industrial relations, demonstrable business development and considerable dealings in environments of change. Drafting and implementing policy and procedure together with extensive budget and financial management are also areas that Michael has expertise. His experience in
construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure systems is valuable in being
able to facilitate alternative project procurement and delivery methodologies.
He has
extensive experience in multiple stakeholder management in the planning and procurement of infrastructure projects, this expertise covering community consultation and facilitation programs.
Perth

Perth Branch Manager
Principal

Hong Kong

Hong Kong Managing Director
Principal
Colin is responsible for the overall management and performance of Evans & Peck in
Hong Kong and China. His 36 years experience in the engineering and construction
industry and fluency in Cantonese was developed after moving to Hong Kong in 1979
where he worked on a wide variety of civil engineering, foundation and building projects.
Colin provides management, engineering and consulting services to the construction
industry and is a renowned facilitator of ‘partnering’ contractual relationships, risk and
value engineering workshops for government departments, construction companies,
developers and public corporations. He provides expert opinion in arbitration and court
proceedings on construction and foundation engineering cases and is a practising mediator.
Shanghai

China Operations Manager
Foo is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry involving infrastructure and building projects in Australia and Asia. His areas of expertise include project delivery, design management, project management, engineering procurement, pre-design/pre-construction planning, contract management, risk and value management. Foo has carried out many risk assessments on various metro and bridge projects in China. Strategic business advice and alternative dispute resolution are also his other areas of interest.
