The seeds of failure often lie in the original contract documentation. Contracts are the tools through which business and government objectives are achieved. However, they are often prepared with minimal understanding and regard for the mechanisms that will ensure success.
Evans & Peck prefers to provide early and comprehensive contractual advice to harmonise legal approaches with the achievement of project objectives. We create processes which deal with risk, responsibilities, and the management of disputes. We know that this early advice will significantly improve project outcomes.
In addition, Evans & Peck are the only provider in Hong Kong officially endorsed by NEC to provide training on NEC Contracts. The ICE developed the NEC in the early 1990’s and on 20th July 2010, the ICE and their co-sponsorers, ACE and CECA, solely endorse the NEC3 Suite of Contracts and withdraw from the ICE Conditions of Contracts. The NEC is now used in over 20 countries worldwide, and many high profile projects including the London Olympics 2012, Crossrail, most UK water companies. The Hong Kong Government are currently embarking on schemes for the use of the NEC Contract for its engineering and construction projection.
