The growth in international trade and the strong demand for resources has seen a focus on expanding port infrastructure and developing efficiencies in the supply chain. Evans & Peck has been busy helping clients conceptualise, plan, develop and deliver port projects from Australia to China.
In Western Australia, we have been working with publicly-listed company International Minerals (IM) to assist with port development concepts at Cape Preston in the Pilbara. We also evaluated bids for the Oakajee Port - a complex project including port design and construction, dredging design and construction, materials handling and rail operations.
In Sydney, Evans & Peck led the procurement management team for the Port Botany Expansion Project. Following the team’s outstanding work on this project, Sydney Ports Corporation engaged Evans & Peck to manage procurement activities for the development of the Intermodal Logistics Centre at Enfield – an ‘inland port’ to ease congestion on the local road network around Port Botany.
Port projects have also been carried out in China, Queensland and Victoria – examples include the Zhuhai Port, Gladstone Port Authority’s new coal loader, and Geelong Port’s wood chip handling facility.
